Photoshop Elements 10 - Introductory Lab Workshop

Want a hands-on introduction to using Photoshop Elements to make the most of your pictures? Then this is the class for you! This three-part, hands-on lab class will teach you how to use Photoshop Elements 10. You will follow along on your laptop as we cover how to use automatic and manual adjustments. You will learn how to utilize tools such as the clone tool, blending brushes and red eye removal. We will address the importance of the selection tools for more precise editing and provide a basic introduction to using layers to change the content of your images. As an added bonus, you may purchase a copy of Photoshop Elements 10 at a deep discount—at least 50%—with the purchase of this class! Class fee is $150 per person and registration is required to reserve your space. This class will meet once a week for three consecutive weeks. Photoshop Elements 10 and a laptop are required to participate in this class.

Fundamentals of SLR photography

In this workshop you will learn the basic techniques of SLR photography and how they relate to your photos. Some of the topics covered include the use of shutter speeds, lens aperture, focal length, depth of field, ISO, and metering. We will also discuss the guidelines of composition and creative techniques, leading to more powerful images. The workshop consists of 2 parts that will include lecture, discussion and image analysis. You will be assigned activities to complete between the two sessions that will put the concepts we discuss into practice. The fee for this course is $60/ person. Registration is required.

Green Screen Workshop

Discover simple lighting and portrait techniques using green screen technology. Create dynamic photos using a digital point and shoot or DSLR camera. Produce magical results quickly in just a few steps. We will focus on using the Westcott Green Screen Digital Photography Kit. Fee: $45/person. Registration is required.

Sports & Action Workshop

Learn how to advance your sports photography from a pro, Mike Demeter. Mike will demonstrate how to best get that elusive sports shot of your child and/or professional athletes. A basic knowledge of SLR photography or having taken our Fundamentals of SLR Photography Workshop is recommended. Fee: $45/person.

Nature Photography

This class focuses on the fundamentals and techniques of photography as they apply specifically to nature photography. You will learn how to take better landscape, macro close-up, and telephoto images through the proper use of depth-of-field, shutter speed, & lighting. A basic knowledge of SLR photography or having taken our Fundamentals of SLR Photography Workshop is recommended. Fee: $45/person. Registration is required. Workshop will be held at our Commercial location in downtown Cleveland.

Digital SLR Classes

These classes present an overview of your DSLR camera. Topics covered include the camera controls and their functions, camera modes and programs, and menu options. You will learn basic photographic principals and how to use your camera. This class is free with the purchase of a DSLR from any Dodd Camera location. Otherwise, the fee is $35 per person. Registration is required.

Bring your camera with a fully charged battery and a memory card with space to record images. It can be helpful to have your camera manual with you, as well.

Digital 101

This course is intended for first time digital camera owners. It covers basic digital terms, how to set up your camera, basic picture taking, and how to review and delete pictures. You will also learn some tips for taking better pictures. This class is free with the purchase of a camera from any Dodd Camera location. Otherwise, the fee is $35 per person. Registration is required.

Digital 102

Designed for those with some basic knowledge of digital photography, this class will address various camera controls, the camera modes, and will begin to explore the menu options.
